This course can be done by those
who have done our intermediate course (Sea Kayaking in
Protected Waters) or by kayakers with experience navigating
in protected environments (bays, lakes and slow water rivers).
In this level, the student will learn
about navigating the open coast and large lakes. You will
acquire advanced knowledge about navigating with instruments
and maps, safety, dangers, and survival situations.
The main topics in this level are:
- Reading the Sea
- Navigating in sea conditions
and expeditions
- Kayak dangers
- Emergency situations and survival
- Planning and expeditions
On the other hand, you can also learn
about planning and doing multi day expeditions, taking into
account different aspects such as equipment, provisions,
camp sites, loading the kayak, and especially, protecting
the environment.
By the end of the course
- The student will be able to plan
and do longer expeditions in large lakes and open coasts.
- The
students will be able to put to the test their knowledge
in a three day expedition planned by them.
Includes
- Transportation from the Kayak Australis
location to the practice place.
- Double and single kayaks,
paddles, spray skirts, lifejackets, and wet suits.
- Safety and rescue equipment.
- Free one year inscription in
the Kayak Australis Club

Requirements
- Know how to swim
- State of health compatible
with the activity
- Be of minimum
age.
- Have taken our intermediate level course
or demonstrate equivalente experience.

- The maximum number of students per
group is 8, with one instructor for every 4 students.
