Algarrobo
Algarrobo is a one
of the most beautiful beaches to swim at on the central
coast. It is considered a rest area, where we can
find a perfect harmony between the countryside and
the beach. Its sea is calm enough to do all types
of aquatic sports and is the main location for the
major boat races along the coast.

Algarrobo is a small and beautiful swimming area along Chile’s
central coast, ideal for nautical sports.
Our sea or tour kayaking excursions at Algarrobo consist
of paddling through the Algarrobo Bay, Los Tubos Beach, Pajaros
Niños Island, Canelo-Canelillo Inlet and El Canelo
Beach.
The tour through the port allows us to navigate among the
fishing boats and through the “rock garden”.
To get to the Cofradía (boat club), located at the
extreme south of Algarrobo Bay, we have to pass by the San
Pedro and los Tubos beaches. Following the coast past the
Cofradía, we’ll get to the Pajaros Niños
Island, which is a nature sanctuary where we can find various
species of birds: Pelicans, Gulls, and, mainly, Humboldt
Penguins.
More to the south, surrounding the Island, we’ll enter
the Canelo-Canelillo Inlet. The final destination is El Canelo
Beach, a large white sand beach surrounded by forests.
Itinerary
Leave at 8:00 AM from Santiago, in our
vehicles, to the Central Coast.
At Algarrobo we’ll begin sailing
from the port. Before starting the excursion, we’ll
do a short practice on paddling, basic safety, and sea navigation.
The tour is through the Algarrobo Bay
and Cofradia, until we get to El Canelo Beach. Here
we will stop to rest and eat, and then we’ll return
to the port.
We’ll start the return trip to Santiago
at about 6:00 PM.
